Lunch and Snack Ideas
Important: If your child has dietary restrictions or you have preferences (i.e. vegetarian, kosher, halal) please inform your Head Teacher or the Director. We will work to accommodate you and your child's needs.
What's for lunch? It is a question we face every day as parents. Below are suggestions to help you pack your child's lunchbox.
Please remember that Lemberg is PEANUT and NUT FREE.

Lunch
- Grilled cheese on whole wheat bread
- Pizza: on an English muffin, homemade dough, other bread, leftover, etc.
- Hummus, pita and/or veggies
- Vegetable soup
- Bagel with vegetable confetti: Spread a bagel with cream cheese, then finely dice sweet raw veggies like peppers and carrots. Sprinkle the veggies over the bagel
- Sushi rolls: crab meat, cucumber, avocado wrapped in rice or a flour tortilla. Cut into pieces and wrap it tightly. Use the same method for salmon or tuna salad.
- Sausage
- Fish sticks and fruit
- Mac and cheese
- Soy nut butter and jelly sandwiches
- Cold cuts
- Cooked dumplings
- Sliced avocado
- Cheese slices or cubes
- Tofu cubes (from stir fry, or soft cook and coat with wheat germ, crushed cheerios, or crushes graham crackers)
- Cottage cheese
- Steamed veggies (throw some mixed frozen veggies in small container in the morning, will be thawed by lunch)
- Chicken, cheese and crackers
- Steamed couscous, plain or add feta, beans, veggies, etc.
- Cinnamon raisin bread with cream cheese
- Sweet potato balls (microwave sweet potato, mash with butter, brown sugar, milk, then roll into bite-sized balls)
- Dolma: stuffed grape leaves
- Meatballs and rice or pilaf
- Red lentil soup
- String cheese
- Yogurt
Snacks and Dessert
- Fresh fruit: apples, pears, nectarines, bananas, grapes (sliced), etc. Good coated with wheat germ or crushed cornflakes.
- Dried fruits
- Yogurt (good with berries)
- Veggies
- Cheese
- Pretzels
- Applesauce
- Rice cakes
- Cereal bars
